Love, love, love, love this layout, I think it is incredibly pretty and it was loads of fun to create too. Underneath, it is particularly beautiful and is where the colour inspiration came from as well. I used a beautiful swirly Kaisercraft stencil with embossing paste and then I coloured it using sprays at first, but couldn’t get the depth of colour that I was after, so I turned to my Lindy’s magical shakers with the purple and yellow. They are so perfect to use and give such a breadth of colour, from gentle pastels to deep, rich colouring, use as much or as little as you need. It is hard to see the gorgeous background now that the layout is finished and I get frustrated with that. I have another project that I have done and I am so in love with the background that I don’t want to put any more onto it. See the image below which shows the colourful swirl in the background. These colours then set the tone for the entire design.
I then scratched through my bag of lace and found the one you see and it works so perfectly and it is such a beautiful piece of lace, with its little dangly bits, it is definitely one of my faves. I then decided that a spray of butterflies was required and so I used Pearlescent embossing paste through a large stencil for that, it makes for such a pretty highlight.
Then it is time for lots of flowers, ephemera, pieces of bling, creating the photo matt and so much more. The crimson leaves are ones I drew and cut out on the Silhouette and then embossed. There seems to be a trend with layouts at the moment to mix the colours up a bit rather than keep it all in the same tone and I really like that. I like this colour combination, it just works so beautifully. Below are a few more images, all it needs now is the right photo and it is ready for the wall.
