When it comes to designing, I am not a planner, I like to freewheel it and simply let it evolve as I go. If I am using a photo, I usually let that dictate the colour choices, but when doing a design with no photo, I just let the inspiration take me as it sees fit. I do not know why I chose to use purple and orange, with a touch of green, I just really like the colour mix. I realise it is the halloween colour mix, but the colours look so good together, even if not for Halloween.
I once again used the Lindy’s Magical Shakers in the background and also to create the dark grey for the dots stencilling. I had also just recently purchased this cute frame from Imaginarium Designs and so that all came together to start, plus a few different leaf dies that I was eager to use. Flat layouts are not really my thing, I like layers and texture and lots of it, but I am also considered at the same time, as I do not like wastage.
It all came together beautifully, the colour brightness and mix is perfect, so many layers and little pieces all integrate together to create a really lovely layout. Doilies, all sorts of different flowers, ribbon, ephemera, chippie pieces, pearls and so much more. I very much enjoyed working on this layout and I hope you like it too. More images below.
